Here are the answers to the questions that we are often asked. If you would like to know anything that isn’t covered here, please contact us for more information.

  • Where are Arctic Quest based?

We are at Croft Farm, two miles North of Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire. For GPS, the postcode is GL20 7EE. Click here for maps and directions.

  • Do rides take place in all weathers?

Huskies have evolved to work in the colder, northern climates. For the welfare of the dogs, summer rides may be subject to time changes according to the temperature, so please leave time around your adventure in case we either need to bring it forwards or delay it by a couple of hours. If we do need to change the ride timing due to warm temperatures we will give you as much notice as possible.

Rides will normally continue in extreme weather such as snow, ice or flooding, but may be rearranged if it is difficult to get to site.

  • What should I wear?

Your husky mush is an outdoor adventure, so you will need to dress appropriately. Rides go ahead whatever the weather, so waterproofs may be required and trainers or walking boots are suitable footwear. Suitable layering to keep you warm is always advisable in the winter.

The dogs are very friendly, so don’t wear your best designer gear, or anything you wouldn’t be happy getting a paw print on!

  • Do you provide safety gear?

We will provide you with full instructions and appropriate safety wear, including helmet, to ensure you get the most out of your ride. 

  • Do I need to be physically fit for the ride?

Our experience requires a reasonable level of health and fitness. We do not permit anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs to participate in rides.

  • Is there a weight limit to ride?

There is a limit to the weight that the dogs can safely pull. This is 18 stone. If you have any concerns, we can advise at the time of booking.

  • Are there dietary options for the mushers’ meal?

If a meal is included with your ride, we have a wide choice of lunch options, including vegetarian. Morning rides are usually bacon rolls, unless otherwise specified.

Please let us know of any special dietary requirements and we will do what we can to meet your needs.

  • What if I need to rearrange my experience?

We are happy to rearrange your booking, please see terms and conditions for notice periods. Please note that we do get very busy and so it may not always be possible to let you have the new date that you require.

  • Can I bring spectators?


You can bring friends or family along to watch. Spectators are charged at £10 per person, which includes learning about the dogs and a campfire meal and drink, or toasted marshmallows if accompanying a “taster ride”. It is an experience in itself. We normally allow two spectators per rider, but please contact us if you would like to bring more.

  • What if I’m late?


Ride times are carefully managed for the welfare of the dogs. If you are more than half an hour late, we will treat your ride as a cancellation.

  • Where do we meet?


We meet all riders at the arranged time in the main car park at Croft Farm, which is by the reception and cafe. We recommend that you use the toilets there before starting your adventure.

  • Can I bring my own dog?


We don’t allow dogs in camp when the team are working as this can cause them to lose focus. You can leave your dog in your car, which will be in sight and you will be able to check on them during your adventure. There is an “off lead” area by the entrance to Croft Farm if needed.

  • Can we take pictures?


You are more than welcome to take photos of your experience. If you want to get some real action shots you can order a DVD and Photo package of your ride, which includes on-board head cam (please note that this must be pre-booked).
